Breeder Code of Conduct – Pedigree Portal Ltd
All breeders using Pedigree Portal Ltd agree to uphold the highest standards of animal welfare, transparency, and professionalism.
By listing dogs for sale, you agree to the following:
1. Animal Welfare
Ensure all breeding dogs and puppies are kept in safe, clean, and comfortable environments.
Provide proper food, water, shelter, veterinary care, and socialisation.
Follow all applicable UK animal welfare laws, including the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
2. Health & Transparency
Only list dogs that are healthy, legally owned, and of verifiable pedigree.
Disclose all known medical issues, vaccinations, microchipping status, and health screening results (if available).
Do not advertise banned breeds or misrepresent crossbreeds as purebred.
3. Documentation
Supply appropriate documentation to buyers, including:
Kennel Club registration (if applicable)
Vaccination and health records
Microchip details
Signed sales contract
4. Age of Puppies
Puppies must not be advertised or rehomed before 8 weeks of age.
Puppies must be microchipped and health-checked prior to sale.
5. Ethical Breeding
Breeding must not compromise the health or well-being of the animals.
Breeders must avoid over-breeding or breeding from dogs with hereditary issues.
Avoid inbreeding and breeding from dogs under 12 months or over safe breeding limits.
6. Communication & Conduct
Respond promptly and honestly to enquiries.
Treat buyers respectfully and professionally at all times.
Avoid pressure selling or misleading information.
7. Site Integrity
Breeders must not create multiple accounts to bypass listing fees or moderation.
All images must be of the actual dog(s) being sold.
Listings must not include affiliate links, third-party promotions, or unrelated advertisements.
8. Compliance Monitoring
Breeders may be required to provide evidence of pedigree, ID, or licensing on request.
Failure to comply with this code may result in account suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
